Art Deco Home Transformation

What began as a straightforward renovation of this 1930s Art Deco home quickly evolved into a significant structural reconfiguration. Originally composed of dark interiors, small windows, and a series of enclosed rooms, the home lacked the open, airy feel desired for modern family living.

A major layout overhaul saw the kitchen relocated from the second floor to the ground level, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor flow—perfect for a growing family. The redesign embraced the home’s Art Deco heritage while introducing contemporary elements, including fluted paneling and fluted glass, to enhance both texture and light diffusion.

The end result is a striking blend of period character and modern livability: a space that feels light, expansive, and effortlessly connected to the outdoors while staying true to its original architectural charm.
